January 14, 2009 Time: 7:30 am Program Overview: If you, as board members or advisors, have been trying to understand the “subprime” loan crisis and subsequent government “bail-out” of commercial banks, investment banking firms and insurance companies, this is the meeting to attend in 2009. Philip W. Seefried, Jr., Co-Founder & CEO of Headwaters MB, LLC, a Denver-based investment bank, will explore the credit contraction in a presentation titled "The Death of Credit." In the speech, he will explain how the present crisis developed and how the regulatory response evolved over time. Phil emphasizes the linkages of the events and "tells the story" in a way that you can share with others. We live in an extraordinary time in financial market history; all board members and other professionals should understand this situation and its impact on the companies they guide. These events will impact markets and public policy for years to come. Directors need to understand the macro drivers in this financial crisis - what caused it, what is being done by government, and what to look for going forward. This presentation will clarify those perspectives and provide a firm foundation for board room decisions. If you have already seen Phil’s presentation at another venue, consider attending again as the talk changes with each passing day!!! Jeff Van Gulick , one of our Advisory Board Members and Senior Vice President - Financial Services for Van Gilder Insurance Corporation, a NACD Sponsor, introduced NACD-CO to our January presenter.
